Abstract

In remote sensing the most common imaging radar systems are the SLARs that produce continuous strip images. The author describes in detail the real-aperture SLARs and synthetic aperture SLARs with a brief discussion of B-scan image (in which severe distortions exist) and the PPI, the plane position indicator (in which the distortion is reduced). Details of an operational system are presented.-M.Alam
