Abstract

Thirty‐four patients have been studied to evaluate the effect on postoperative analgesia of haloperidol in two doses as a premedicant compared with a placebo. Analgesia was provided by tin on‐demand system and assessed by visual analogue score. No significant difference was noted between the groups in regard to analgesic requirements or degree of pain relief. However, potent anti‐emesis was clearly demonstrated.
