Abstract

The ongoing outbreak of COVID-19 threatens not only medical institutions but also the educational curriculum for health care professions. This study proposes a model responding to the pandemic for physical therapy departments in terms of business continuity management (BCM). We reviewed our response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Physical Therapy department along with the BCM process. An appropriate plan was developed utilizing the eight issues identified for each BCM process. As a result of examining all department work from a BCM perspective, it became possible to identify work priorities, the points needing framework reformation, and other issues requiring attention. Developing a BCM strategy is the key to Physical Therapy departments’ responses to any emergency.
