Abstract

The traditional RPL supports static environment. In this chapter, the impact of mobility on RPL is investigated in linear topology with varied node density. Mobility model is developed with feature support randomness, and it is manually configured. The performance of mobility enabled RPL is simulated using COOJA and compared with traditional static RPL in terms of packet delivery ratio (PDR), control overhead and latency. From the simulation results, it is inferred that PDR is less and control overhead and latency are higher in mobility enabled RPL.
