Abstract

The lawfulness of telemedical applications themselves is beyond question from the point of view of data protection. However demands have to be met in two respects to make the procedures legitimate: On the one hand, the informed consent of the participating patients is necessary, on which high demands have to be made. On the other hand, a high level of data security has to be ensured, especially if providers who are not professionals subject to professional secrecy partake in the application.
