Abstract

Nanotechnology is the science, engineering and technology which is been conducted at the Nano-scale, particle size ranges from 1 to 100 nm. It is a part of nanotechnology. Nano-suspensionsis characterized as submicron colloidal scattering of drug particles that are stabilized by surfactants and stabilizers. Nano-suspensions can be used to enhance the solubility of drugs which are poorly soluble in aqueous as well as lipid media thus increasing the rate of release of the active compound and the maximum plasma level is reached faster. Nano-suspensions overcomes the problem of poor solubility, bioavailability and alter the pharmacokinetics of the drug there by improving its safety and efficacy. Nanotechnology overcomes the difficulties associated with these conventional approaches for solubility and bioavailability enhancement. Nanotechnology deals with particles in the nano-scale range that is 10-9 meters. The article explains in detail about the Nano-suspensions. Nano-suspensions deals with solubility enhancement and comprised of the pure poorly water-soluble drug without any matrix material suspended in dispersion.
