The topic under consideration is relevant, since more than 80% of Yakutia is covered with forests, which is why this region is one of the most fire hazardous in our country. This year in Russia, in particular in Yakutia, there was a record number of fires. Since the beginning of 2021, 69 forest fires have occurred in Russia, that is, they have affected the lands of the forest fund. In 2020, 439,100 fires were registered, which is 6.9% less than in 2019. They killed 8,262 people, which is 3.5% less than last year. Among the dead, 355 were minors - 12.6% less than in 2019. There is no doubt that fires have negative impacts on all areas. Ecology is no exception. In this regard, in this article, the authors consider the environmental consequences of the fires in Yakutia that occurred this year.
