Abstract

Catholic schools in Egypt have to pursue their educational mission in a predominantly Muslim context. This article describes the mission objective and developments in this context from both a historical and a contemporary viewpoint. The Catholic education mission has enjoyed a positive reputation in Egypt in the past and it is hoped that this will continue in the future.© 2011 Taylor & Francis.
