Abstract

The present work is a numerical simulation of flow over a racing motorbike. OpenFOAM®, an open-source Computational Fluid Dynamics tool was used to run the simulations. The basic procedure involved creating a virtual wind tunnel and simulate flow over a racing motorbike at different Reynolds Number to compare various parameters. Paraview is used to post-process the solutions from the numerical simulations. The post-process results gave a better understanding of flow over the bike and a way to increase its speed by reducing drag, for any futuristic designs. This will not only help in increasing the speed but also help in fuel efficiency.
