Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in understanding and student learning outcomes of the basic concept of multiplication in the form of repeated addition by applying the demonstration method through learning videos using picture cards, number cards and video power point slide shows in the form of animation for grade 2B students. This research design uses a demonstration method. In first cycle, it was implemented by applying the learning video demonstration method, picture cards and number cards. In the second, it was implemented by applying the demonstration method using picture cards and number cards in the learning video PowerPoint slide show in the form of animation. The results of the Classroom Action Research (CAR) show that students' understanding and learning outcomes of mathematics material about multiplication by applying the teaching video demonstration method, picture cards, number cards and applying the demonstration method using picture cards and number cards in the learning video PowerPoint slide show in the form of animation. There was an increase in the first classical completeness of students was 60% with an average value of 72.4 and classical completeness in Cycle II was 96% with an average value of 93.2. The use of the demonstration method by using a power point slide show learning video in the form of animation can improve student understanding and learning outcomes in mathematics learning basic multiplication material in repeated addition.   Keywords: Demonstration Method, Card Media, Multiplication
