Abstract

Pedagogical innovation has incorporated the use of ICT and digital tools, generating a relevant impact on teaching and learning processes. This research uses EVALOE-SSD, a digital tool for professional development, built to help teachers design their classes, reflect on their pedagogical practice and make decisions, in order to promote oral competence in their students. The tool was used by 13 teachers in initial training, during 10 weeks, in classes of different subjects, with students from 12 to 16 years old, in different regions of Chile. The results show that the tool allows improving the teachers' perception of their teaching work, developing awareness of students’ oral competence, and developing reflective practice, with a favorable acceptance of the group of teachers towards the incorporation of digital tools in their classes.
