Abstract

Cognitive diagnosis models (CDMs) are a class of discrete latent variable models which may be used to estimate the possession of attributes underlying a global ability or attitude. The present article explains the basics of CDMs to researchers not acquainted with this family of models. Two worked out examples show how to apply a CDM using the R package CDM.
