Climatic change is probably an important factor operating on vector populations. Vector transmitted diseases are still a heavy burden for tropical developing countries, despite tremendous progresses. These diseases were also present in some foci of temperate areas, but an expansion of these foci and the emergence of new diseases have been observed during the recent years. But anthropic factors play also a considerable role on the emergence or re-emergence of vector transmitted diseases. More multidisciplinary research is a necessity to find sustainable solutions.
