Abstract

The main aim of this study is to investigate the level of Web accessibility of private and public websites in India between 2017 and 2018. The study has been typically done in between 2017 and 2018. With the help of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0), 13 standard websites were evaluated in 2017 and 35 in 2018. The study utilized the evaluation method to achieve the result from automated evaluation tool AChecker. The evaluation outcomes described that not a single websites handled the priority 2 (Level AA) checkpoints. This result suggests that not a single websites come across the level of Web accessibility for a kind people in India. The regular Web accessibility level deteriorated during 2017 and 2018 with the gradual expansion of Web pages complication and considerable quantity of content material. Nonetheless, private and public website pages had made some substantial change in the proper way, which demonstrated the private and public websites had recognized the level of Web accessibility issues are tried to handle them. WCAG 2.0 has been equally distributed to evaluate the accessibility restrictions that are present in both the studies and these limitations will work as a technical recommendation for the Web content providers. However, the private and public website pages had enhanced fundamentally with respect to availability because of the freedom of accessibility guidelines. Therefore, the objective clarifies that low level of Web accessibility in India is satisfactory to the lack of realization of guidelines instead of technical competencies.
