Abstract

The differentiation of non-integer order has its origin in the seventeen century, but only in the last two decades appeared the first applications in the area of control theory. In this paper we consider the development of an optimal fuzzy fractional PD β +I controller in which the parameters are tuned by a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. Several simulations are presented assessing the performance of the proposed controller. © 2015 Springer International Publishing.
