Abstract

The Rock Geochemical Database of Finland contains chemical data for 6544 bedrock samples throughout Finland. Stratified sampling strategy was used to ensure that all major lithologies are well represented in the database. Major and trace elements were analysed by XRF, ICP-MS, ICP-AES and GFAAS techniques. Precision and analytical drift were estimated using 375 duplicate sample pairs. The lowest reliable concentration was determined for each element using the precision estimates. In addition to the chemical concentrations, the database contains the geographic location and several geological attributes for each sample.
