Abstract

A new method is described for the preparation of a DTPA complex containing 99mTc using an acidic solution of TiCl3 as a reducing agent. Paper chromatography has confirmed that the 99mTi-DTPA preparation contained at least 2% of free pertechnetate immediately after preparation. This preparation is suitable for biological application within 2 h after preparation if stored at room temperature, and within 4 h if stored at reduced temperature (+4°C). The biological distribution in rats indicated that the preparation was readily removed from the organism with slight accumulation of activity in the kidneys and in bone. © 1979.
