Abstract

Clinical documentation improvement (CDI). Each word carries its own meaning for health care providers. Together, they mean improved quality of patient care and more accurate reimbursements. Complete and accurate documentation in the medical record has a direct impact on the assignment of codes and ultimately leads to higher, more accurate levels of reimbursement.
