Abstract

The relationship of two parameters characterizing fracture toughness, J-integral and COD, is analysed and applied in the investigation of a low-alloy mild steel. It is shown that the value of the parameter M in the formula J = Mσyδ decreases with temperature, but is not influenced by the ratio a/W. Suitable equations to estimate the value of M are presented. © 1984.
