We propose a new approach to the analysis of chaotic spatial field distributions (including the snapshots of the fields evolving with time), taking as a basis a translational dynamical system with d times. A space series is used to determine quantitative characteristics of disorder such as spatial correlation and pointwise dimensions. © 1992.
