Abstract

It is shown that with a suitable three- or four-body part in the effective interaction it is possible to reproduce the normal odd-even staggering of nuclear charge radii. A separable four-body force and four- and three-body contact forces have been investigated. Numerical results are given for the Sn, Hg and Pb isotopes. © 1987.
