Abstract

Transmetallation of (E) and (Z) enolsilanes using halodialkylborane (R2BX) reagents provides predominantly the (Z) dialkylboron enolate under mild conditions. These enolates afford high levels of syn selectivity in subsequent aldol reactions. © 1995 Elsevier Science Ltd.
