Abstract

This paper presents a methodology and the results on the fragility estimation of an isolated reactor building for the FBR (Fast Breeder Reactor). The methodology is based on a regression analysis between the intensity of the input earthquake motion and the response obtained from non-linear response analyses in which the effect of non-linear restoring characteristics regarding isolators and superstructure are taken into account. And also the result of a probabilistic estimation on the ultimate capacity of the isolation layer is incorporated in the fragility estimation. © 1994.
