Abstract

The magnetization process of an amorphous even-membered sperimagnetic insulator is examined on the basis of a simple model consisting of spin- 1 2 and spin-1 ions with transverse fields, proposed for amorphous spinel ferrites. We find some characteristic features of the magnetization process depending on whether the subnetworks are coupled parallel or antiparallel. © 1992.
