Abstract

Photocell with poly(3-alkylthiophene) (PAT6) / poly(p-pyridyl vinylene) (PPyV) heterojunction is fabricated and characterized. PL of the both polymers are quenched by making heterojunction. The photovoltaic characteristics such as short-circuit photocurrent of the heterojunction device are improved from the single-PAT6-layer device. These characteristics are discussed in terms of photoinduced charge transfer between PAT6 as donor and PPyV as acceptor.
