Abstract

This article provides an overview of impact protective eyewear products available in the safety and sports market. The focus is on ophthalmic lenses, frames, materials, treatments, and processes currently used for safety and sports for adults and children. Explanation of compliance to current safety and sports standards is provided. A product selection protocol is described to prescribe and select protective eyewear for various conditions, and current products are explained and evaluated.
