The thermal decomposition process of two forms of polyaniline (emeraldine and pernigraniline) has been studied. The pyrolysis was performed at 700 °C and the fragments obtained were separated by HRGC and identified by using a mass spectrometry detector. The expected products were obtained, as well as other ones derived from the cyclization of their radicals.
