Abstract

We discuss a construction of Bethe ansatz eigenstates for the so-called diagonal-to-diagonal transfer matrix of two-dimensional vertex models on a square lattice, recently introduced by Bariev. We show that the basis of the method again lies in the "triangle equations" of the vertex model and construct a corresponding quantum inverse scattering method which can be generalised to Kagomé and triangular lattices. © 1983.
