Abstract

Responds to S. Leonard and L. Giordano's (see record 2002-06798-022) comments on the T. P. George et al (see record 2002-00040-008) which concluded that smoking abstinence differentially alters visuospatial working memory (VSWM) in schizophrenic vs. control smokers, and that cigarette smoking has beneficial effects on VSWM in schizophrenic, but not control, smokers. George et al thank Leonard and Giordano for their comments and further discuss effects of smoking abstinence on VSWM function in schizophrenia.
