The elastic scattering of 3He by a heavy nuclei at Elab(3He) = 450 and 217 MeV are studied theoretically based on the single-folding (SF) and the double-folding (DF) models for the interactions between 3He and a target nucleus. The spin-orbit interaction predicted by the folding models plays an important role in elastic scattering and produces a large vector-analyzing power. The validity of the folding models is discussed in comparison with the available experimental data for elastic scattering.
