Abstract

Hemiacetal 10 was prepared in 13 steps from dimethoxybenzaldehyde. Key steps included the salcomine oxidation of a phenol and a selective deprotection using boron trichloride. © 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
