Abstract

The magnetic susceptibility data for the high Tc superconducting cuprates which are dependent on temperature in the normal state have been reported. They suggest that the normal electronic state is unconventional as has been been measured for the transport properties. Several models have been proposed to explain this phenomenon. We have studied this phenomenon for the Bi-Sr-(Y,Ca)-Cu-O 2212 samples by measuring the magnetic susceptibility, the thermoelectric power in the normal state and also by performing tightbinding-band calculations. We concluded that the magnetic susceptibility and transport properties seemed to be correlated. © 1991.
