Abstract

The vibrational densities of states for a dodecagonal lattice in an isotropic model and an anisotropic model are calculated. Anomalous behaviors at low frequency are observed, which are explained as the crossovers from phonon excitations to fracton-like excitations. At high frequency, a few characteristics peaks are observed, which are found to be contributed by a few non-extended vibrational modes. © 1992.
