Abstract

An anaerobic fluidized bed reactor, using sepiolite as support, for the treatment of distillery wastewater was started-up using a stepped loading regime with addition of methanol. Six different steady states at hydraulic retention times between 0.5 and 2.48 days were studied achieving a COD removal efficiency of 70.5 to 88.6%. © 1992 Kluwer Academic Publishers.
