Abstract

Perianal Crohn’s disease may cause a range of disabling symptoms, including pain, discharge, bleeding, and both sexual and defecatory dysfunction. The care of these patients is challenging and requires experience, familiarity with the literature, and a thoughtful, multidisciplinary approach. In this chapter, we discuss the management of perianal Crohn’s disease, including medical and surgical treatment of fistulizing (abscesses, fistulas) and non-fistulizing (hemorrhoids, skin tags, anal fissures/ulcers, anorectal stricture, malignancy) complications.
