Application of readiness approach to risk management for materiel life cycle

Abstract

In order to reduce the risks for materiel development effectively, technology readiness is always highlighted during materiel acquisition. This paper discusses readiness assessment method based on technology readiness and applies the method to risk management for materiel development. This paper introduces readiness and readiness-related concepts and describes several popular readiness models, discusses the process of risk management, and then puts forward the method for applying readiness assessment to risk management and gives the thought and flow of such application. © 2010 IEEE.
