Abstract

This article discusses the impact of the Internet on business and the shift towards global markets, which have both created new business models and opportunities. Educators are beginning to create Web-based curricula that extend beyond the classroom and empower students to contemplate the impact of global activities and the Internet on their careers. Educators can develop the skills needed to create Web-based curricula and benefit from collaborating with teachers from other countries. Additionally, schools can benefit from the integration of technology as more administrators get on the Web-based and technology-supplemented education bandwagon. International joint-learning projects are a feasible and ideal way to prepare students for success in the global marketplace. These projects are also great recruiting tools for both business programs and educators. Designing Web-friendly curricula is a critical component of e-learning. The Internet offers tremendous potential for enhancing academic programs and communities. Most critical is creating a cyber environment that facilitates easy communication, active dialogue, clear outcomes, and expectations focused on supplementing course content.
