Corning, Inc., a Fortune 500 technology company, has implemented a change-management tool that addresses the external aspects of change as well as the internal or human side of change. The company's reengineering strategy focuses on external shifts in processes, structure, and role. In addition, Corning's program helps team leaders and employees let go of the old so they have energy to commit to the new. Corning's HR department, along with several outside consultants, created a self-directed tool kit called Exercises for Managing Change.
