Abstract

Almost all plants are negatively affected by neighboring plants. Although the word competition o suggest that the negative effect is due to the depletion of some limiting resources , organisms can have mutually negative effects on each other through different mechanisms , in addition to resource utilization . This article describes competition within populations , asymmetric competition and interspecific competition in plants.
