Abstract

Computer programs are presented which incorporate 2 different algorithms for predicting the site of signal peptide cleavage for eukaryotic preproteins. These programs can be used to identify sites of signal peptidase cleavage of putative preproteins, to facilitate the design and interpretation of signal peptide mutagenesis experiments, and to engineer artificial prepolypeptides. © 1987.
