Abstract

A case of diabetic neuropathic cachexia is presented. This unusual syndrome within the broad group of diabetic neuropathies is characterized by extreme loss of body mass and severe neuropathic pain. The loss of body weight is unassociated with glycosuria or ketoacidosis. Initially, the patient may present a confusing picture suggestive of carcinomatous neuropathy. © 1978 Casa Editrice «il Pone».
