The design of environmental education strategies has been based on studies about environmental perception. These studies have been structured on conceptual aspects of the relation of mankind with the environment. The present work represents the development of a reflection about the complexity involved in the concept of perception and the critical analysis about its consequence in the usual practices of environmental education.
