Abstract

A novel G-quadruplex-selective luminescent iridium(iii) complex has been employed as a signal-transducing element for the sensitive and selective switch-on detection of sub-nanomolar human neutrophil elastase (HNE) in homogenous solution. © 2012 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
