Abstract

Resource management, especially knowledge management, has been a critical issue in designing and developing a web-based collaborative learning system. This paper presents task based ontology modeling in a collaborative learning environment. Then, designing and developing subject knowledge ontology based on this model is described in detail. In the light of this model, knowledge is divided into taskindependent knowledge and task-dependent knowledge. Furthermore, subject knowledge repository is constructed aiming to develop application-independent knowledge base and accomplish knowledge reusability. © 2008 IEEE.
