Leptospirosis in pigs is worldwide recognized as an important cause of economic losses by reproductive disorders. Leptospires colonizes multiples organs, including reproduction’s, causing lesions that culminate in miscarriage, stillbirth and weak neonates. The disease is inserted in the Swine National Health Program where pig-breeding farms should provide free state or controlled to infection because of its severity. In this context, this review presents and discusses the main aspects and perspectives regarding this important disease that affects swine production
