Well defined product features are the essence of good product management. High quality features lead to successful software products, both functionally and financially. One of the crucial processes in software product management is release planning where features are assigned to releases. Volatile features, resources and stakeholder preferences have been recognized as factors that decrease release quality. In this paper, we propose a lightweight replanning process model where old features are compared with newly added ones using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Then, a greedy replan algorithm is applied to select the most promising features to accommodate changing market driven product demands. © 2006 IEEE.
