Abstract

Management science and operations research (MS/OR) refer to the development of mathematical and computer models to solve complex decision problems. In this day of intense competition among health care providers and pressure from government and third party agencies to become more efficient, administrators must make the most of available resources. MS/OR models can help accomplish this. Since MS/OR models can be quite complex, this article discusses how administrators can work with analysts to promote the success of the model implementation. © 1995 Aspen Publishers, Inc.
