Abstract

This chapter describes the concepts of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics relating to the absorption, distribution, elimination (target-mediated kinetics), and immunogenic properties of monoclonal antibodies. Examples are provided for of comparison of pharmacokinetics of monoclonal antibodies between preclinical species and humans. Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modeling approaches for antibodies and drug-drug interaction potential of antibodies are also discussed. © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
