In addition to belonging to one of the rarer forms of myopathy, this case presents a few unusual features. I. No hereditary history elicited. 2. History of smallpox a year before the onset of the disease; as there is no evidence of encephalomyelitis, there is possibly no relation between the two. 3. Disease started in thigh muscles, usual place for the first manifestation is shoulder-girdle. © 1939 Dr. K C Chaudhuri Foundation.
