MRI and CT perform an important complementary role to echocardiography in the initial evaluation of the neonate with congenital heart disease. This review will focus on the indications and technique of neonatal cardiac imaging with MRI and CT. It also includes a brief discussion of the role of conventional radiography in neonatal CHD and the safety of iodinated and gadolinium-based contrast agents in this age group. © Springer-Verlag 2010.
